Requirements for promotion:
Helper -> Moderator:
  • 2 weeks minimum of experience as Helper (on Disastrous)
  • Must have zero infractions in the past month as a staff member
  • Must be active in your duties as a Helper
Moderator -> Senior Moderator:
  • 1 month minimum of experience as Moderator (on Disastrous)
  • Must have zero infractions in the past month as a staff member
  • Must be active in your duties as a Moderator
  • Must demonstrate leadership abilities
Senior Moderator -> Head Moderator:
  • 3 months minimum of experience as a Senior Moderator (on Disastrous)
  • Must have zero infractions in the past three months as a staff member
  • Must be active in your duties as a Senior Moderator
  • Must demonstrate leadership abilities
Senior/Head Moderator -> Administrator:
General:​
  • 6 months minimum of experience as a Head Moderator or 8 months as Senior Moderator (on Disastrous)
  • Must have zero infractions in the past nine months as a staff member
  • Must be active in your duties as a Head Moderator
  • Must demonstrate leadership abilities
  • Must demonstrate clear communication skills
  • Must demonstrate a pattern of good decision making towards applications
Technical:​
  • Includes General Administrator's requirements plus:
  • Must demonstrate ability to use Linux (Debian 9 distro) commands
  • Must demonstrate ability to use, create and modify Linux scripts & shells
  • Must demonstrate ability to use Linux applications such as Nginx, MySQL, phpmyadmin, iptables and so on
  • Must demonstrate ability to use hardware based firewalls
  • Must demonstrate that you have the understanding and knowledge to properly configuring dedicated servers for security and performance
  • Must demonstrate you have the knowledge to create/setup Minecraft servers using mark2, tmux or similar applications
  • Must demonstrate ability to read & understand Java, HTML & CSS
Administrator -> Senior Administrator:
  • 3 months minimum of experience as an Administrator (on Disastrous)
  • Must have zero infractions in the past twelve months as a staff member
  • Must be active in your duties as an Administrator
  • Must demonstrate leadership abilities
Senior Administrator -> Lead Administrator:
  • Will be promoted as I see fit.
Duties and Responsibilities:
General Staff Member:
  • Your advice on players and staff is considered when it comes to applications, so please input any advise you have on applicants
Helpers:
  • Monitor server & discord chat, as well as the forums
  • Help players that require or request it (only means help via chat & private messages)
  • Report any rule breakers that you cannot punish properly to high ranking members of staff
Moderators:
  • Includes Helper's duties
  • Coach & provide feedback to Helpers on their role as staff
  • Manage & decide player report threads
Senior Moderators:
  • Includes Moderator's duties; although your new duties are higher priority
  • Coach & provide feedback to Moderators on their role as staff
  • Advise Head Moderators on moderators & helpers; how they preform their job, their attitude towards players, etc.
  • Manage & decide appeals for punishments
Head Moderator:
  • Includes Senior Moderator's duties; although your new duties are higher priority
  • Coach & provide feedback to Senior Moderators on their role as staff
  • Manage & decide applications for Helpers
  • Manage & decide applications for Helper - Moderator - Senior Moderator promotions
  • Oversee punishments listed at disastrous.network/punishments
  • Provide leadership to the Moderator staff team
  • You have the power to overrule Senior Moderators & Moderators
Administrators:
  • Includes Head Moderator's duties; although your new duties are higher priority
  • Coach & provide feedback to Head Moderators on their role as staff
  • Oversee the actions taken by Head Moderators
  • Manage & decide applications for Builders
  • Manage & decide applications for Developers
  • Manage & decide applications for YouTubers & Streamers
  • Manage & decide applications for Beta Testers
  • You will receive access to the administrator control panel of our website
  • Manage & decide feedback & suggestion threads
  • Manage & decide staff report threads (if their rank is lower than yours)
Senior Administrators:
General (non-Technical Administrator):​
  • Includes Administrator's duties; although your new duties are higher priority
  • Coach & provide feedback to Administrators on their role as staff
  • Provide support to players via email (login credentials will be provided to you)
  • You will gain access to the network's email accounts and buycraft account
Technical Administrators:​
  • Includes General Senior Administrator's duties; although your new duties are higher priority
  • Provide technical support to players via email (login credentials will be provided to you)
  • You will gain access to the network's dedicated servers, cloudflare account, MCM, Spigot and server listing accounts
  • Fixing bugs and errors in any part of the server configuration (if you're unsure if it's a bug or error please contact a lead administrator or me)
  • Adding & configuring plugins
  • Adding & configuring Xenforo Addons
  • Configuring configurations stretching from linux applications to plugins & minecraft servers to firewalls
  • You will also gain access to an account connected to the company that hosts our dedicated machines & will be responsible for general dedicated machine options (firewall(s), OS installations, etc.)
  • You will also be responsible for maintaining server up-time
Lead Administrator:
  • Oversee the actions taken by Administrators & Head Moderators
  • Manage & decide staff reports concerning Administrators
  • You will be responsible for posting the server on voting sites, updating our listings on voting sites & paying(server funds) for sponsorships
  • You will gain access to the network's MCM, Spigot and server listing accounts
  • You will be responsible for posting threads concerning the server on MCM & Spigot
  • You will be responsible for the payroll of Developers, Builders and other Administrators
  • You will be responsible for contacting Developers, Builders and other freelancers to work for Disastrous
When should I apply for a promotion?:
You should apply for a promotion when you feel comfortable in your current duties as a staff member, believe you can take on the duties and responsibilities of the role you would be promoted to and meet the requirements of the promotion. You do not have to apply for a higher role if you do not wish to.​
